AI ACCESS / Routes & Connectivity

AI tool connectivity starts with how you connect

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and developer tools have different network requirements. Check regional availability, exit IPs and streaming connections before choosing a route for web, API or editor use.

VPNJH offers routes in 120+ countries, with 160+ options. No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. Access to specific tools depends on their service regions and account policies.

Understand the Network Requirements

Why AI Requests Depend on the Route

A page loading only confirms that the initial endpoint is reachable. Sign-in, content generation and ongoing responses each involve separate connection steps.

REGION

Regional Availability

Providers may use your access region, account details and their own policies to determine which features are available. Check the provider's published service regions before choosing an exit route. A matching route region does not automatically make an account eligible. Frequently changing regions while traveling can also make sign-in activity appear inconsistent.

IDENTITY

IP Address & Sign-In Context

Unusual sign-in alerts, repeated verification or temporary access limits may relate to changes in exit IP, browser state and account risk controls. For troubleshooting, keep to a familiar route and check that your browser proxy settings match your system network settings. Don't assume every verification prompt is caused by connection speed.

STREAM

Persistent Connections & Streaming

Chat responses are often generated and delivered as the model works, so the connection needs to stay open. If the home page loads but a response stops midway, check route changes, device sleep, browser extensions and local network fluctuations separately. Before resubmitting, confirm whether the request finished to avoid duplicating development work.

Understand Each Tool's Requirements

Tool-by-Tool Route Comparison

Use this table as a checklist when choosing a route, not as a guarantee that any tool will be available. Check each provider's latest guidance for supported regions and account requirements.

ToolCommon connection typesRoute features to prioritizeWhat to check first
ChatGPTWeb chat, APIA stable exit in a supported service region; a persistent connection during generationWhether sign-in and API requests use the same route
ClaudeWeb chat, APIConfirm the service region; check connection stability during long responsesAccount prompts, exit region and streaming responses
GeminiWeb, developer APICheck regional and account requirements for the specific productWhether you're using the web product or developer API
CopilotWeb, in-app integrationsEnsure the browser and integrated app use the intended routeThe app's network settings and sign-in status
MidjourneyCreative interface, asset transfersConsider both interactive connections and image-loading routesIdentify whether the failure occurs in the interface or during asset loading
CursorEditor, model requestsKeep IDE requests on the selected exit routeWhether editor proxy settings match the terminal environment

The web features and developer APIs of the same tool may have different regional, account or billing rules. Check the provider's official documentation for each.

Accounts & Workflows

Check Sign-In and Requests Separately

Sign-Up & Sign-In

Before using a tool for the first time, review its requirements for your region and account. A registration page that won't load, repeated verification prompts and missing features after sign-in are different issues. Check the connection path for the first; the other two may also depend on account status and the provider's policies. Avoid switching between multiple regions to test. Keeping to one route within the tool's supported regions makes it easier to identify what changed.

A separate browser proxy extension may send traffic through a different exit from your system route. Check the actual access path in the same browser session, then try signing in again. VPNJH's account requirements differ from those of third-party AI tools: VPNJH requires no email address, and you can create an account with a username and password. Check each AI tool's official page for its account requirements.

Web App & API Requests

Web app requests typically come from your browser; API requests may originate from a terminal, application server or automated environment. A working web chat doesn't mean the machine running your code uses the same exit. First identify where the request originates, then check that environment's proxy configuration, API endpoint, credentials and error response.

For API errors, first distinguish connection timeouts, authentication failures, rate limits and regional restrictions. Each calls for a different response: investigate the network path for timeouts, credentials for authentication errors, and the provider's quota guidance for rate limits. Don't treat changing routes as a fix for every error, and never put real credentials in public logs.

Developer Workflows

Configuring the CLI, IDE Plugins & CI

The goal isn't to put every app in the same mode; it's to confirm which network path each process that sends requests actually uses.

TERMINAL

Command Line

In the terminal that runs the request, check proxy environment variables, system proxy settings and the tool's own network options. After changing settings, restart the relevant process and verify connectivity with a test request that contains no sensitive credentials. If the terminal behaves differently from the browser, compare their exit routes before changing account settings.

EDITOR

IDE Plugins

Editors such as Cursor may send requests from the main app, integrated terminal and extensions separately. Check whether the plugin inherits system network settings, then identify whether the issue occurs at sign-in, during model responses or while indexing a project. If a long generation is cut off, also check device sleep settings and the editor's connection status.

PIPELINE

CI Environments

Automated jobs run in separate execution environments, so access from your own machine doesn't guarantee the job can connect. Check the environment's exit route, proxy variables and the tool's supported regions; log connection errors separately from API response errors. Store credentials in your CI platform's secret settings, not in the repository or build logs.

Troubleshoot by Symptom

When a Connection Fails, Find the Point of Failure

The page loads, but the response stops midway?

Keep the current route and check for local network fluctuations, device or browser sleep, and extensions that may change the request path. If it only happens with long responses, compare a short request with a streaming response in the same tool. Also check the provider's service status.

The browser works, but terminal requests time out?

Check whether the terminal process inherited the intended proxy settings, and confirm whether the API request originates on your machine or in a remote environment. If they use different exits, configure and test each separately. If the API has returned a clear authentication or quota error, address that error rather than continuing to troubleshoot connectivity.

Repeated sign-in verification or regional access prompts?

Check the provider's official service regions and account requirements, then see whether you recently changed exit routes or use a separate browser proxy. Keep your sign-in environment consistent where possible. For account-related prompts, follow the provider's guidance.

Changed routes, but the IDE plugin still uses the old path?

The editor or plugin may have retained the network settings it read at startup. Check the plugin configuration and integrated terminal environment; restart the relevant process if needed, then inspect the exit used by a new request. Don't assume the editor has switched routes just because the browser can access the service.

Choosing a Route

Start with the Use Case, Then Choose a Region and Route

For everyday web chat, choose a region within the tool's supported service area, then check whether sign-in and continued responses are stable. For API workflows, verify the exit from the device or environment actually running the code. Check proxy settings separately for editors and automated jobs. When something goes wrong, change one thing at a time and compare results; this is more effective than repeatedly guessing at regions.

VPNJH offers IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes and direct connections. Check regions and route types in the route list. Choose between monthly subscriptions and data packages that never expire on the plans page, based on your usage. Monthly subscription data resets on the activation date each month. The service supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux, allows unlimited simultaneous devices, accepts Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT, and offers a 30-day refund policy. Keep the right route running in the background and focus on what you're writing.
